VSiN is partnering with the Westgate Las Vegas Resort and Casino to provide the best coverage of the SuperContest, the ultimate football handicapping challenge.
To kick things off, Brent Musburger and VSiN’s stable of experts will do their shows from the Westgate SuperBook on SuperContest Weekend on Thursday-Saturday.
VSiN’s hosts and guests will be previewing the 2017 football season with special programming for those who plan to enter the grueling season-long handicapping competition.
Entries in the SuperContest are on pace for an all-time high of more than 2,000, which would result in the largest first prize in the history of the contest, according to Jay Kornegay, VP of the Westgate SuperBook.
“It looks like we’re going to have our first $1 million-dollar winner this year and we’re very excited about that,” Kornegay said. “Right now, we’re pacing about 40% ahead of where we were last year at this point, and with our new partnership with VSiN we know that will give us a huge boost.’’
One of those entrants is Brent Musburger, who was the first to enter the SuperContest on July 1.
Entries for the SuperContest (a $1,500 fee) and the new SuperContest Gold (a winner-take-all competition with a $5,000 fee) are now being accepted at the Westgate.
The SuperBook will be giving away 6 free SuperContest entries during the Aug. 17-19 weekend. A golf event at the Las Vegas Country Club is held on Aug. 19 with a reception at the Westgate afterward.
Once the season starts, VSiN will be the first to report the weekly standings on Tuesdays and the consensus picks on Saturdays. In addition, the Westgate will announce the new SuperContest lines for each week live on VSiN every Wednesday.
VSiN can be heard on SiriusXM Channel 204 and VSiN.com from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. PT on weekdays, noon-5 on weekends, but will be expanding its hours in time for the football season.
