Northwestern (17-8) just saw their two-game win streak come to an end, falling to Rutgers 63-60. Meanwhile, Indiana (14-10) has rotated wins and losses over their last four games and just fell to Purdue 79-59. This line opened with Northwestern listed as a short 1-point road favorite. Pros have gotten down hard on Indiana, flipping the Hoosiers from +1 to -2. In other words, we are seeing sharp “dog to favorite” line movement on Indiana. Indiana is receiving 57% of spread bets but 66% of spread dollars, signaling modest public support but also heavy sharp action in their favor. Indiana has the better field goal percentage (47% vs 46%) and better rebounding (35 RPG vs 31 RPG). Indiana is 10-3 at home while Northwestern is 2-6 on the road. Pros seems to be targeting Indiana on the moneyline at -130, as the Hoosiers are receiving only 41% of moneyline bets but 61% of moneyline dollars, a sharp contrarian bet split. Rutgers (14-10) has won four straight games and just edged Northwestern 63-60. Conversely, Minnesota (15-9) has lost two straight and just fell to Purdue 84-76. This line opened with Minnesota listed as a 3-point home favorite. Sharps have laid the chalk with the Gophers at home, driving Minnesota up from -3 to -4. Minnesota is receiving 68% of spread bets but 81% of spread dollars, further evidence of both public and sharp support in their favor. Minnesota is far better in terms of offensive efficiency (87th vs 289th), effective field goal percentage (54% vs 44%), three-point shooting (35% vs 29%) and free-throw shooting (68% vs 66%).
