7 p.m. ET: Iowa State at Cincinnati (-1.5, 136)
Iowa State (18-5, ranked 10th) has won five of their last six games and just took down TCU 71-59. On the flip side, Cincinnati (15-8) has dropped two of their last three games and just fell to Houston 67-62. This line opened at roughly a pick’em. The public can’t believe this is a coin flip game and they’re rushing to the window to back ranked Iowa State over unranked Cincinnati. However, despite 68% of bets backing Iowa State, we’ve actually seen this line move toward Cincinnati pick’em to -1.5. This signals sharp reverse line movement on Cincinnati, with pros embracing the fishy home favorite. Cincinnati is the top contrarian play of the night, receiving only 32% of bets in the most heavily bet game. Cincinnati is is also receiving 32% of bets but 60% of money, further evidence of the bigger, sharper pro wagers backing the Bearcats in a notable “low bets, higher dollars” bet split. Those looking to back the Bearcats in what could be a tight game would be wise to consider them on the moneyline at -120. Cincinnati is 12-3 at home while Iowa State is just 3-3 on the road. Big 12 home favorite are 42-13 (76%) straight up in conference play this season. Unranked home favorites vs ranked opponents are 20-12 (63%) straight up this season and 63-25 (72%) since the start of last season.
7 p.m. ET: St. John’s at Providence (-1.5, 145.5)
St. John’s (14-10) has dropped three of their last four games and just fell to Marquette 86-75. Similarly, Providence (15-9) has also lost three of their last four and just fell to Butler 75-72. This line opened with Providence listed as a 1-point home favorite. Pros have laid the short chalk with Providence, driving the Friars up from -1 to -1.5. Currently 73% of spread bets and 89% of spread bets are laying the points with Providence, signaling a heavy combination of both Pro and Joe support. Providence has the edge in effective field goal percentage (52% vs 50%) and adjusted defense (12th vs 62nd). Pros seem to be especially interested in backing Providence on the moneyline (-120), as the Friars are receiving 70% of moneyline bets and 92% of moneyline dollars. Ken Pom also has Providence winning by just one point (72-71). Providence is 12-2 at home while St. John’s is 2-5 on the road. Big East home favorites are 38-10 (79%) straight up in conference play this season. Providence has been dominant at home, going 43-5 (90%) straight up at “The Dunk” over the bast three seasons.
11 p.m. ET: New Mexico at Nevada (-2.5, 155)
New Mexico (19-5) has lost two of their last three games and just came up short against UNLV 80-77. On the other hand, Nevada (19-5) has won three straight and just outlasted San Diego State 70-66 in overtime. This line opened with Nevada listed as a 1-point home favorite. Wiseguys have gotten down hard on Nevada, steaming the Wolf Pack up from -1 to -2.5. Nevada is receiving 64% of spread bets and 70% of spread dollars, indicating both public and sharp support. Ken Pom has Nevada winning by one point (76-75). Those looking to protect themselves from a tight win that may not cover the spread could instead target Nevada on the moneyline at -140. Nevada is receiving 68% of moneyline bets and 75% of moneyline dollars, further evidence of pros targeting the Wolf Pack to win the game. Nevada is 12-1 at home this season. This is also a revenge spot for Nevada, as the Wolf Pack lost to New Mexico on the road 89-55 back on January 28th. Nevada also has a one-day rest advantage, having last played on Friday while New Mexico last played on Saturday.
