College Basketball Best Bets
We are back with more hardwood action for a Tuesday after a 2-0 sweep last week! With the NBA currently on their All-Star break, let’s look at my college basketball best bets.
Bowling Green vs. Central Michigan (-1.5, 138.5)
MACtion is back, this time with some college hoops! These two squads are toward the top of the league but heading in two separate directions. The Falcons of Bowling Green come in losers of five of their last seven, with both wins coming at home. Now they must head to the Chippewas, who have won eight of their last nine, including a win at Bowling Green. That was a double-overtime thriller where Bowling Green won the turnover battle 16 to 3. It’s unlikely either team has a 13 turnover edge again in this spot, which favors Central Michigan. Additionally, Central Michigan dominated the boards with a 52-37 rebounding edge, something that is repeatable. Let’s lay it with the short home favorite who is playing the better basketball late in the season.
College Basketball Best Bet: Central Michigan -1.5
San Jose State vs. Boise State (-15, 141.5)
If you are not tuned in to the Mountain West, you are missing out! The highly competitive conference has six teams that will be dancing in March, with a seventh on the bubble. One of the teams at the top is Boise State, currently sitting 0.5 games back of both Utah State and San Diego State, who face off tonight. On the other hand, San Jose State is 2-11 in conference, with both wins against 1-12 Air Force.
This is a great spot for Boise State to flex their muscles and keep pace with the best in the league. In their last two home games, the Broncos have won by 24 and 38 points over similar competition. When the Spartans go on the road, it hasn’t been pretty, with 19, 30, and 19-point losses to top Mountain West teams in their last three. Both trends continue tonight in a Boise State blowout.
College Basketball Best Bet: Boise State -15
Good luck today on the hardwood!
