Peterson: Best bet for Michigan State vs. Northwestern

153

The Michigan State Spartans have bounced back from their opening night Champions Classic loss with wins in 11 of their last 12 games and will look to continue the streak on Sunday on the road against Northwestern.

Michigan State Spartans (-2, 139.5) vs. Northwestern Wildcats
(stats as of Saturday morning)

The Wildcats have scored at least 70 points in nine of their 10 games this season and are 41st in the country in points scored on a per-possession basis.

Michigan State has done their damage from the outside, as their 39.8 percent 3-point shooting percentage ranks eighth in the country, but has to score on a Wildcats bunch that is 21st in the country in points allowed on a per-possession basis.

Michigan State has also failed to create turnovers, ranking 307th in the country in percentage of possessions in which they force a turnover, and Northwestern is is committing a turnover on just 12.1 percent of their possessions, which ranks third in the country.

With Northwestern tied with Arizona for the nation’s top 2-point shooting defense in terms of percentage, and double digit scorer Chase Audige being back after missing the first seven games of the season, the Wildcats will roar with a win on Sunday.
