Week 5 in college football and Game 2 of Mickey Joseph’s head coaching career at Nebraska is ushered in by the arrival of October. The Cornhuskers are hosting Indiana and there were two things that surprised me about this game. One, I’m shocked it is getting so much betting attention, and doubly shocked that it is heavy on the favorite.
We’ll revisit this at the end of this column as we have 13 other games to go over and choose to always present the games in official Nevada rotation order. Stay tuned.

Louisville (-14.5, 51) at Boston College
We opened the game 15. They laid me the 15 and I went to 16. They took 16, took 15.5 and took 15. Now I’m at 14.5, so different sharp groups on different sides in this game. Lotta business in this game but no movement on the total.
No. 22 Wake Forest (-6.5, 63.5) at Florida State
We opened the game 7 on Wake and there had been some two-way action. However, just today, we got some sharp action plus the 7 and we’re down to 6.5. There has been some movement on the total. We opened 64.5 and they bet us Under. We’re at 63.5.
No. 10 North Carolina State at No. 5 Clemson (-7, 44)
We opened 6.5 and sharp money pushed us up to 7. The public looks like they are on Clemson as well, on the 6.5 and the 7. A big total move here, too. We opened this total 39.5 and they bet us Over 39.5, Over 40.5, Over 42 and Over 43, so we are all the way up to 44.
Michigan State at Maryland (-8, 59)
We got bet on this just recently. Opened the game 7. They laid me 7, they laid me 7.5 and I went all the way to 8.5 and they just took the 8.5. I’m back at 8 in the game now. We opened the total 60, they bet Under and we’re at 59.
Purdue at No. 21 Minnesota (-12, 52.5)
This is an interesting one. We opened the game 11. They laid me the 11 and I went to 12. They laid me the 12 and I went to 12.5. They laid me the 12.5 and I went to 13. Now they took back the 13 and they took back a little bit of 12.5, so I’m at 12. I’ve kinda been all over the place on this game with the changing of the status of Purdue QB Aiden O’Connell. Rumor is now that he’ll play. I opened the total 52 and got bet on the Over. We’re now at 52.5.
No. 9 Oklahoma State at No. 16 Baylor (-2.5, 56.5)
One of the games of the day but hardly any movement on it. We opened 2.5 and have not moved it. Good action on both sides. And the total of 56.5 hasn’t moved either due to decent action both ways.
Cincinnati (-10, 58.5) at Tulsa
We opened the game 9.5. Sharp guys laid me the 9.5 and we’re now at 10. Total opened 58.5 and hasn’t moved.
Oregon State at No. 12 Utah (-10.5, 55)
This is another one that moved very recently. We opened the game 10.5. They took it and I went to 10 and they laid back the 10 and I’m back to 10.5. Total opened 55 and I haven’t moved.
Stanford at No. 13 Oregon (-17, 62.5)
Late Stanford games. We haven’t done too well on those. We opened Oregon -16.5, they laid it and we’re up to 17. The total has not moved.
No. 7 Kentucky at No. 14 Mississippi (-7, 54.5)
We opened at 6.5 and they laid the 6.5. We’re up to 7 and at 7 we’re writing good two-way business. This total had a lot of movement. We opened 53.5. They bet me Over 53.5, they bet me Over 54, and I’m now at 54.5.
Texas Tech at No. 25 Kansas State (-7.5, 57.5)
We opened K-State 8. They took the 8 and we are now at 7.5. Nothing else going on here. We opened the total 57.5 and it hasn’t moved.
No. 4 Michigan (-10.5, 42.5) at Iowa
We opened Michigan -10.5. They laid the 10.5 and we went to 11. They took back the 11 and we are now back to 10.5. They are not betting Under on Iowa this week. We opened 42 and they bet me Over and we’re now at 42.5.
LSU (-8, 46) at Auburn
We opened 8. They laid it and we went to 8.5. They laid that and we went to 9. Then they took back 9, a sharp bet, and we are back to 8. The total has not moved.
No. 2 Alabama (-17, 61) at No. 20 Arkansas
We opened 16.5. They laid the 16.5 and I went to 17. They laid the 17 and I went to 17.5. They took the 17.5 and I’m back to 17. The total of 61 hasn’t moved.
Indiana at Nebraska (-5.5, 60.5)
We are writing a ton of business on this game. We opened 3.5. They laid me the 3.5, we went to 4. They laid 4, we went to 5 and they laid that. So now I’m at 5.5 and they are starting to take back the 5.5 but not enough to move me back to 5 yet. Great action on this game. The total, however, has not moved.
