VSiN founder/owner Brian Musburger was in the office Tuesday and caught my attention when he said:

I won more money betting Wes Reynolds’ golf picks than I did on the Super Bowl.

Now that may say something about Brian’s Super Bowl picks, but it also says something about Wes’ picks. Brian has been betting more lately since he signed up for EDGE Boost (see next item). He took one of Wes’ long shots, Min Woo Lee at 75-1 in the Phoenix Open, betting him top 20 and top 40.

This week on the Tour, we have the Genesis Open, moved from the fire-damaged Riviera Country Club to Torrey Pines in San Diego, which was the venue for the Farmers Insurance Open three weeks ago.

I was more than a little curious to see if Wes had Harris English as one of his Best Bets this week. English rewarded Wes with a 100-1 winner in the Farmers and is 60-1 to repeat at Torrey Pines.

Listen now: Wes joins Matt Brown and Kelley Bydlon on the Long Shots, VSiN’s golf betting podcast.

Wellness check on ‘Hoops

Greg “Hoops” Peterson is doing double duty this week and next, producing his daily Coast-to-Coast Hoops podcast and filling in for Joe Ceraulo on Cashing Out (11 p.m.-2 a.m. ET).

Greg handicaps every college basketball game every day, so his podcasts can be quite time-consuming for him. For you, however, he provides timestamps for each game, so you can skip to the ones you want.

I record the podcast before I drive in for the show. The podcast gets uploaded at midnight Pacific every day. That way nobody has to wonder when it will be up . . . regular season, offseason, days with or without shows on VSiN. And money does not sleep, so that means that I don’t either (though usually from 7:30-noon are my sleeping hours).

>Check out his handicapped lines here.

I almost forgot that Greg also writes up his daily best bets for VSiN.com. You can find today’s column here.

‘Olympic’ hockey preview

The NHL regular season is taking a 12-day break to make way for the 4 Nations Face-Off.

Jonathan Davis handicaps the round-robin tournament that starts tonight with Canada vs. Sweden in Montreal (8 ET, TNT).

Why are they doing this? This tournament is replacing the All-Star Game this year. NHL players will compete in the 2026 Winter Olympics after skipping the last two Games, so this is a bit of a prep for international play.
