Mr. Ed’s Keeneland Picks:

MR. ED’S KEENELAND PICKS: Today’s 10-race card is another mixed bag of allowance, claiming and maiden contests —  a challenge to the very sharpest of handicappers. Mr. Ed is ready to fire with both fists. To illustrate the highly competitive nature of the meet, not a single jockey or trainer could win more than one race on Wednesday. Not including the $69 bomb in Race 6, the average $2 Win ticket returned a mere $4.34. First race today is 1:00 p.m. ET/10:00 a.m. PT. Let’s look at Mr. Ed’s exclusive VSiN selections.

Mr. Ed’s Keeneland Picks for Thursday, October 10

Race 1 (1:00 p.m. ET/10:00 a.m. PT) — $64K CLAIMING for 3YOs & up going 7 furlongs
Mr. Ed likes two: #3 FLAT ON (9-5 morning line) for West Coast trainer Peter Eurton, who hires Jose Ortiz to stalk and pounce in stretch. I’m also backing #4 PEEK (9-2) for Rusty Arnold and meet leading rider Luis Saez.

Race 2 (1:32 p.m. ET/10:32 a.m. PT) — $79K MAIDEN SPECIAL WEIGHTS for 2YOs going 6 furlongs
My choices are #4 SWEET MUSIC (4-1 morning line) for Wayne “Catman” Catalano and top rider Irad Ortiz Jr., and #9 ITWILLBEFUN (9-2) for Kenny McPeek, who retains Brian Hernandez Jr., after encouraging debut at Churchill.
KEENELAND PICK: $5 Daily Doubles of 3,4/4,9. ($20)

Race 4 (2:36 p.m. ET/11:36 a.m. PT) — $55K MAIDEN CLAIMING for 3YOs & up going 7 furlongs
Mr. Ed swings for the fences with #8 NOBLE EAGLE (20-1 morning line) for promising young trainer Whit Beckman and journeyman jock Florent Geroux. Team showed promise late in last at Churchill. Son of super sire More Than Ready. Royalty bred.
KEENELAND PICK: $4 Exacta Boxes with 1,4,5,7,9. ($20)

Race 5 (3:08 p.m. ET/12:08 p.m. PT) — $110K ALLOWANCE for fillies and mares, 3YOs & up going 1 1/16-mile on turf
If #13 MYSTIFYING (3-1 morning line) draws in after scratches, Mr. Ed believes filly will post her second score. Shug McGaughey trains, Jose Ortiz rides.
KEENELAND PICK: $10 to Win. ($10)

Races 7-10 (4:12 p.m. ET/1:12 p.m. PT) — $100K MAIDEN SPECIAL WEIGHT for 2YO fillies going 1 1/16 mile

R10: 5,6,8 ($36)

Race 9 (5:16 p.m. ET/2:16 p.m. PT) — $120K ALLOWANCE CLAIMING for 3YOs & up going 6 furlongs
Mr. Ed likes #2 WORLD RECORD (6-5 morning line), trained by Rudy Brisset and ridden by first-rate Flavien Prat in the irons. Sun of Gun Runner slipped in Grade 1, but will score today vs. non-stakes players. Flavien Prat rides.
KEENELAND PICK: $10 to Win & $5 Exacta Boxes with 8,9. ($30)

TOTAL WAGERS: $116

LOOKING AHEAD: Mr. Ed returns to Keeneland for a weekend of horseplay, hospitality, gourmet food and bluegrass bourbon. Headlining the 10-race card is the marathon G3 $300K Sycamore Stakes (Race 9) for 3YOs & up going a 1 ½-mile on the grass. The forecast calls for sunshine, blue skies, and a high in the ‘70s. Post time for the first race is 1:00 p.m. ET/10:00 a.m. PT.
