Friday Betting Recaps

Friday’s sports betting action was kicked up a notch with the women’s World Cup joining the British Open on the international stage, plus a full 15-game MLB slate (though the Mets-Red Sox game was suspended in the bottom of the fourth inning, so “no-action”).

I’ll leave the golf and soccer recaps to my co-workers as we’ll stick here to our nightly MLB betting recaps, then update the season-long betting stats.

MLB: Favorites went 10-4 on Friday with the Mets-Red Sox game suspended in the bottom of the fourth inning, so no-action. Upsets by the Rockies (+200 in 6-1 win at Marlins), Nationals (+143 in 5-3 win vs. Giants), Dodgers (+110 in 11-5 win at Rangers) & Guardians (+105 in 6-5 win vs. Phillies). Home teams went 9-5. Overs led 8-5-1 with the push in SD-DET (9).

More MLB: On the season, faves lead 834-595 with 25 games closing pick-’em. Home teams lead 753-697 with 4 neutral-site games as road teams continue to cut into lead. Unders’ slim lead was cut to 699-693-61 with 1 no-action.
