Saturday Betting Recaps
Saturday was a pretty full sports betting day with 16 MLB games, as well as WNBA, golf, UFC and even the USFL title game.
For our purposes here, we’ve been following MLB and the USFL for their whole seasons with the Birmingham Stallions repeating as USFL champions and most MLB teams hitting the halfway point of their 162-game schedules. Let’s get to Saturday’s betting results and then update the season-long betting stats in both sports.

MLB: Underdogs went 9-7 on Saturday with 3 games near pick-’em, but the small dogs won all 3. The biggest upsets were by the Royals (+205 in 6-4 win vs. Dodgers), A’s (+193 in 7-6, 10-inning win vs. White Sox) and Red Sox (+147 in 7-6 win at Blue Jays). Home/road teams split 8-8, including Yankees-Cardinals doubleheader split. Over/Unders also split 8-8.
More MLB: On the season, favorites still lead 708-517 with 20 games closing pick-’em. Home teams’ lead has been dipping lately but still lead 646-595 with 4 neutral-site games after the 8-8 split on Saturday. Unders’ lead is down to 600-594-50 with 1 no-action.
