Game 6 New York Mets vs. Los Angeles Dodgers Prediction:

The season is on the line for the New York Mets in Game 6 of the National League Championship Series. The series goes back to Los Angeles, where the Dodgers look to a bullpen game on Sunday to close the series.

The Dodgers are unlikely to have any significant bulk pitcher go in this game. As of Saturday night, a starter had yet to be announced, but the bullpen of the Dodgers has been reliable this postseason, hurling 49 innings across 10 games with a 2.94 ERA.

Top MLB Resources:

The New York Mets give Sean Manaea the start on the mound. He prepares to make his fourth start of the postseason, logging a 2.65 ERA in the playoffs. Throughout the entire 2024 season, he has been at his best on the road.

Manaea posted a regular season 3.17 ERA with 0.7 home runs allowed per nine innings on the road compared to a home 3.75 ERA with nearly 1.4 home runs allowed per nine innings. In Los Angeles for Game 2. he surrendered two earned runs in five innings to pick up a win for the New York Mets.

Holding down the Dodgers bats a second time will be a challenge, considering they entered October with the most runs scored of any playoff team. They have been even better in the postseason, averaging 5.2 runs per game during the regular season and six runs per game in the playoffs.

The New York Mets have averaged 4.75 runs per game this season, including just over 4.9 runs per game this postseason, but have been held to two runs or fewer in three of the five games in this series.

The day off on Saturday gives both bullpens a chance to recharge. With how Manaea has performed recently for the Mets, allowing three runs or fewer in 14 of his past 16 starts, the series will get its first Under in Game 6.
