Dodgers (-135) vs. Cardinals. Greg’s Line: Dodgers -155.
The Dodgers’ offense leads the National League in runs per game. They get to face Steven Matz who has a 5.62 ERA with 1.5 home runs and 3.5 walks per nine innings allowed. In his four starts this season, Dodgers starter Tony Gonsolin is averaging just over 4 2/3 innings per start, but he has been effective with a 1.42 ERA and is coming off 11 scoreless innings across his last two starts.
Rockies vs. Rangers (1.5, -110). Greg’s Run Line: Rangers -1.5, -131.
The Rockies give Karl Kaufmann his first career MLB start. He posted a 7.78 ERA with 6.2 strikeouts per nine innings for AAA Albuquerque this season. He faces a Rangers offense that just welcomed back All-Star Corey Seager. Even without him for most of the season, the Rangers lead the league in runs per game at home with 6.3 to back up starter Martin Perez, who has allowed just two runs in his two starts at home in 2023.
Tigers (-115) vs. Nationals. Greg’s Line: Nationals -134.
The Nationals’ offense is committing the fewest strikeouts per game of any team in the league while ranking ninth among MLB teams in batting average. They face Tigers starter Matthew Boyd, who is allowing 1.7 home runs per nine innings with a 5.21 ERA since the 2019 All-Star Break. He’s backed up by a Tigers offense averaging 3.2 runs per game—the lowest in the league with no other team averaging fewer than 3.8 runs per game.
