Greg Peterson posts his daily handicapped MLB lines for every game every day. Based on his lines vs. the actual lines, here is where Peterson sees value on today’s menu. Peterson also does a daily podcast, The Baseball Betting Show, on which he breaks down every game every day.
Giants vs Padres Total 21. Greg’s Total 18.7.
After the game on Saturday, it’s easy to go overboard and think getting outs is impossible in Mexico City. Truthfully, I had to adjust this line from my initial projections, too, but this number has gone up too high. The Giants started Sean Manaea on Saturday and Alex Cobb is a massive upgrade while Yu Darvish is an All-Star pitcher and has almost as much experience making starts outside of the United States as any MLB pitcher.
Cardinals vs Dodgers Total 10. Greg’s Line 9.1.
While both starting pitchers have an ERA above 5.40, the offenses have not been as lethal as expected. The Dodgers have the lowest batting average in the National League at .223, while the Cardinals team batting average falls from .286 at home to .245 on the road and the Cardinals’ 3.7 runs per game on the road ranks 26th in the league.
Reds vs. Athletics Total 8. Greg’s Total 8.6.
The Athletics have the highest over rate in baseball, with the over 18-8-2 in their games this season. Athletics starter Ken Waldichuk is allowing opponents to hit .317 off of him while allowing 3.2 home runs per nine innings while posting a 7.82 ERA and is backed up by a bullpen with a 6.95 ERA, which is last in the league.
