Here are our favorite MLB prop bets for Sunday, April 9:

Boston Red Sox (-107, 8) at Detroit Tigers

Last season, the Red Sox were tied for ninth in the league in wRC+ against left-handed pitching, and they’re already fourth in the league in wRC+ when facing southpaws in 2023. With that said, a meeting with Matt Boyd should be rather fruitful for this Red Sox lineup. Boyd didn’t look particularly sharp in his first start of the season, and it’s not hard to imagine a scenario in which Boston scores four or five runs against him today — and then the team would get to work on a mediocre Detroit bullpen. Meanwhile, the Tigers should have no trouble scoring against Kutter Crawford today. The righty got shelled for seven earned runs in only 4.0 innings against the Pittsburgh Pirates in his first start of the year. And while Detroit’s lineup isn’t all that intimidating, the team should be able to do enough damage on him for the over to cash today.

Bet: Over 8 (-120)

New York Yankees (-145, 7.5) at Baltimore Orioles

The Orioles will be looking to earn a series win over the Yankees on Sunday, and they’ll do so against Nestor Cortes. Last season, Cortes was dynamite in two starts against Baltimore, giving up no earned runs over 18.1 innings of work. However, Baltimore is first in the league in wRC+, OPS and ISO against left-handed pitching this season, and only three teams have scored more than the 15 runs the Orioles have scored against lefties this year. They also have a batting average of .305 against southpaws in 2023. With that in mind, it shouldn’t surprise anybody if Baltimore gets the best of Cortes here. That alone makes the Orioles a worthy play on the moneyline, but it’s also nice that the Yankees are just 24-27 when playing on the road after a win since the start of last season.

Bet: Orioles ML (+130)

Toronto Blue Jays at Los Angeles Angels (-125, 9.5)

Last season, Brandon Drury batted .299 with an OBP of .329 and slugging percentage of .626 against lefties. This is a guy that has really crushed left-handed pitching in recent years, which has made him a hot commodity after a few seasons in which he looked like he was destined to bounce up and down between the majors and minors. Today, Drury gets a crack at a very hittable lefty in Yusei Kikuchi. Drury has a double off the southpaw in one of his three career at-bats against him, and we’re banking on him to get another hit tonight. Considering his splits against lefties, it’s hard to lay off at these odds. They’re juiced but they are far from unreasonable.

Bet: Drury Over 0.5 Total Bases (-175)
