Wednesday Best Bet Results
Wednesday was spent relishing in and recovering from the celebration after the Golden Knights’ Stanley Cup-clinching victory on Tuesday night.
Top MLB Resources:
As for our bets on Wednesday, we started early at 10 a.m. PT with the Tigers First 5 Innings +150 vs. the Braves. We picked it in yesterday’s column as an “anti-swagger” play against the Braves after their 7-game winning streak was snapped on Monday and mentioned we liked Michael Lorenzen starting for Detroit. Well, during the morning, the Tigers announced Lorenzen was being moved to the second game of the doubleheader. We didn’t list pitchers or include on the VSiN Pro Picks page, so we have no problem with being graded with the loss at +150 even though we got +213 on Wednesday morning (and we certainly would’ve wanted credit for the win if the Tigers had led after 5 innings).
As it was, the Tigers jumped out to a 4-0 lead after two innings and we thought we had made a great bet; however, the Braves rallied to lead 7-5 after 5 innings to deal us the loss.
We did end up winning our top play of the day later when the Phillies First 5 Innings +105 at Diamondbacks to show a slight overall profit as we cashed with the Phillies leading 2-0 after 5 innings and also went on to win 4-3 in 10 innings for those who play our picks on the full-game money line.
Let’s look for MLB plays on Thursday as the NBA and NHL playoffs are now behind us, plus I still have one early USFL play for the weekend that we first posted the other day.
MLB Thursday Best Bets
Blue Jays First 5 Innings +105 at Orioles: This is a “mini-anti-swagger” play against the Orioles as they just had a 5-game winning streak snapped by the Blue Jays in a 3-1 loss on Wednesday as the O’s were no-hit into the 7th inning. We’ll also take Yusei Kikuchi (6-2, 4.34 ERA) to continue holding down Baltimore’s offense despite the Jays facing equally tough Tyler Wells (5-2, 3.24 ERA).
Guardian First 5 Innings +120 at Padres: We kinda like this pitching even better with Cleveland’s Logan Allen (3-2, 3.31 ERA) vs. San Diego’s Ryan Weathers (1-4, 4.93 ERA) and, of course, like the price better. It’s just not our top play of the day because of the Orioles’ “mini-anti-swagger” role.
USFL Week 10 Best Bet for Saturday
Pittsburgh Maulers-New Jersey Generals Under 41: If you follow me on Twitter @ViewFromVegas, you might have seen this play posted on Monday afternoon. We’ll get more into my USFL plays (5-0 ATS) later in the week as the regular season comes to a close, but I wanted to lock in this play as it’s down to 40.5 at Circa Sports here in Vegas and we expect it to go lower before game day instead of higher (though William Hill does have it at 41.5 for those with that book in their state).
