Questionable Uptick in Betting Noticed Before the Fight

A UFC fight is under investigation due to irregular betting that happened in the hours before the fight.

U.S. Integrity, a company which contracts with sportsbooks, alerted its clients of an unusual volume of bets on featherweight Shayilan Nuerdanbieke, the favorite, as well as a high volume of bets on the fight to go under 2.5 rounds.

Some sportsbooks took the fight off the board, but others, possibly not clients of U.S. Integrity, left the fight up.

Underdog, Derrick Minner, lost by TKO just 1:07 into the fight.

UFC Statement on Betting Investigation

The UFC issued a statement soon after investigations began and word got out.
Part of the UFC statement read, “At this time, we have no reason to believe either of the athletes involved in the bout, or anyone associated with their teams, behaved in an unethical or irresponsible manner.”

The UFC contracts with Don Best Sports to monitor betting information on its fights. The UFC statement also read, “Don Best Sports, a leading global supplier of real-time betting data for North American sporting events, will conduct a thorough review of the facts and report its findings.”
