Here are our favorite NBA prop bets for Thursday, March 16 (odds provided by DraftKings Sportsbook):
Sacramento Kings at Brooklyn Nets (-2.5, 238)
Over the last three games, Spencer Dinwiddie is averaging a combined 17.7 rebounds and assists per game. Now we’re taking him to have at least 13 rebounds and assists in a meeting with the Kings.
The reason to really love this total is that the Kings give up more assists per game than anybody in basketball, so Dinwiddie has a shot at putting a huge dent in this number with his assists alone. In the 14 games Dinwiddie has played since being traded back to the Nets, he’s averaging 14.6 potential assists per game. That’s the eighth-highest mark in basketball, and it shows you he’s doing a great job of reading the floor.
With Dinwiddie having a very exploitable matchup as a passer, he shouldn’t need many rebounds to help you cash this. But he has already had six games with at least five boards since heading back to Brooklyn, so he’s not exactly a zero on the glass. We’re looking forward to seeing how this one plays out, as it seems like a very low number.
Bet: Dinwiddie Over 12.5 Rebounds + Assists (-115)
Oklahoma City Thunder at Toronto Raptors (-6.5, 231)
Jalen Williams is only averaging 4.3 rebounds per game this season, but he started the year playing fewer minutes and that drastically lowered all his season averages. However, Williams has played at least 30 minutes in 16 of his last 20 games, and he has had at least six boards in nine of those last 20 contests.
Tonight, we like Williams to go out and have six boards against the Raptors, and we especially like it at plus-money odds. The Raptors have a lot of size throughout their lineup, so it’s not an easy team to rebound strongly against. However, that also means that Williams will need to work extra hard on the glass in order to help Oklahoma City find a way to win this one. And this game is going to have a playoff-like intensity to it, as we’re late in the year and both teams are looking to improve their postseason positioning.
Williams has had more than six boards in back-to-back games, and he just pulled down 10 in a win over the Nets. He is becoming a guy that just completely stuffs the stat sheet and he should do exactly that here.
Bet: Williams Over 5.5 Rebounds (+125)
Orlando Magic at Phoenix Suns (-8, 228)
Tonight’s meeting between the Magic and Suns has the potential to be a fun game, as this Orlando team competes hard and Phoenix isn’t as strong as usual with Kevin Durant still out. With that said, this could be a pretty competitive game, and we like Markelle Fultz to make his mark on it.
One of the better plays this season has been taking the over on Fultz’s assist total, but we’re turning to him as a scorer in this one. According to our Daily Prop Analyzer, Fultz has gone over his point total in 26 of the 48 games he has started this year. And now he gets to face a team that will have Chris Paul on him rather often. Paul is no longer the defender he used to be, and the future Hall of Famer could have trouble containing Fultz off the dribble.
Fultz has also scored at least 15 points in 12 of his last 18 games. He’s really feeling confident right now, even though that jumper never really came back after he left college. Look for him to get to the rim relentlessly in this one. And if he can hit a three or two, that’d just be a little bonus.
Bet: Fultz Over 14.5 Points (-120)
