Here are our favorite NBA prop bets for Friday, April 21:
Boston Celtics (-5, 228) at Atlanta Hawks – Game 3
Bogdan Bogdanovic scored 18 points for the Hawks in Game 2, and it’s hard to see him not scoring at least 13 in Game 3. For as much firepower as Atlanta has in the backcourt, the team really doesn’t have many guys that can be relied on there to go out there and space the floor. That is why Bogdanovic has played 30.5 minutes per game in this series, and you should see him flirt with another 30 minutes tonight.
Bogdanovic is a guy that has played in big games all throughout his life, as he came over to the NBA after having spent some quality time in the highly competitive EuroLeague. What that means is that Bogdanovic isn’t the type to shrink in big moments. He lives for this type of competition, and you shouldn’t be surprised if he comes up big for the Hawks tonight.
Bogdanovic should also be aided by the fact that this is a home game tonight. Role players tend to shoot better in their own arenas during the postseason.
Bet: Bogdanovic Over 12.5 Points (-125)
Cleveland Cavaliers at New York Knicks (-1.5, 211.5) – Game 3
Darius Garland had 32 points in a Game 2 win over the Knicks, but we’re looking to the point guard’s rebound total in Game 3. Garland had three rebounds in Tuesday’s game and we like him to reach that mark again here.
Garland averaged 2.7 rebounds per game during the regular season, so going over this mark clearly isn’t something that is foreign to him. Also, with all the adrenaline he’ll have in this game, he’ll likely use that to go into the paint and help his big men do some dirty work.
The big story of New York’s Game 1 win was that the team dominated Cleveland on the glass. So, there should be a concerted effort from all of the Cavaliers to prevent that from happening again. We saw it a bit in Game 2 and these players are smart enough to keep working hard on the glass moving forward.
Bet: Garland Over 2.5 Rebounds (-120)
Denver Nuggets (-2.5, 222.5) at Minnesota Timberwolves – Game 3
The Nuggets had absolutely no answer for Anthony Edwards in Game 2, as the 21-year-old went for 41 points on 14-of-23 shooting from the floor and 6-of-10 shooting from 3. Edwards now gets to head back to Minnesota, where he should be more comfortable. Look for the young star to turn in yet another impressive performance, especially with his team hoping to avoid a 3-0 deficit in the series.
Minnesota found something that worked in Game 2, with the team realizing that there’s just nothing Denver can do to stop Edwards once he gets downhill. The Nuggets have no help defense inside, so they started to set a ton of screens for Edwards and let him run the offense a lot more. That should continue in Game 3 and Edwards already said he’s going to come out very aggressive.
Bet: Edwards Over 25.5 Points (-125)
