Here are our favorite NBA prop bets for Monday, May 22:
Denver Nuggets at Los Angeles Lakers (-3, 224) – Game 4
Dennis Schroder is playing 29.0 minutes per game in this series against the Nuggets, and it wouldn’t be surprising if he were to flirt with 35 minutes in Game 4. Los Angeles’ season is on the line tonight, and the team has been getting nothing from D’Angelo Russell. Head coach Darvin Ham needs to do what’s in the best interest of the team, and playing Schroder is certainly that. He applies more rim pressure than Russell does, and he also does a better job of defending on the perimeter.
Even if Schroder doesn’t end up seeing an increase in minutes, I still like the point guard to drill at least one triple in tonight’s game. Schroder is 0 for 5 from the outside over the last two contests, but he had made at least one 3 in four of his previous five games before the dry spell. And he has also taken at least two 3s in each of the last seven games. Schroder isn’t exactly a sniper from deep, but he isn’t a liability either. If the Nuggets are giving him good looks, he should be able to bury at least one shot from deep.
It also doesn’t hurt that Austin Reaves is averaging 22.7 points per game in this series. So, not only does Denver have to be locked in when LeBron James and Anthony Davis have the basketball, the team also has to pay close attention to Reaves. That means not a lot of people will be worrying about Schroder. That’s why we’re expecting good looks for him in this game, and he’s the definition of a gamer. He should play well with everything on the line here.
Bet: Schroder Over 0.5 Made 3s (-130)
