Here are our favorite NBA prop bets for Friday, May 12:
New York Knicks at Miami Heat (-6, 207.5) – Game 6
Max Strus has scored at least 14 points in each of his last four games, and we’re turning to him to score at least 13 points in Game 6. Strus has been a guy that has proven he isn’t afraid of big moments with Miami. His 31 point-performance in the Play-In Tournament meeting with the Chicago Bulls is the reason the Heat are even in the postseason. And he’s not going to shy away from taking shots against New York on Friday.
Strus has attempted at least 10 triples in each of the last three games in this series, and good looks from 3-point range should be there for him at home. If Strus buries a couple of long-range shots, this over is well within distance. Strus has even done a good job of attacking closeouts to finish at the rim in this series.
Bet: Strus Over 12.5 Points (-110)
Golden State Warriors at Los Angeles Lakers (-3, 220) – Game 6
The Warriors inserted Gary Payton II into their starting lineup, as the team felt it needed a jolt in this series. Payton is a feisty defender and also makes smart plays as an off-ball mover on offense. The latter has been on display over the last two games in this series, as Payton is averaging 14.0 points per game over those contests. With Payton likely looking at another game of heavy minutes, it’s hard not to like him to score at least 10 points tonight.
Payton isn’t a guy that is going to spend much time on the ball, but the Warriors use him as a screener quite often. That gives him the chance to finish at the rim. Los Angeles also dares Payton to shoot open 3s, and he is 2 for 4 from deep over the last two games. Even if he hits just one triple in this game, that’ll send him on his way to cashing this over.
There’s nothing exciting about betting a player like Payton to score, as you know Golden State wants shots to go to Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and others. However, Payton is efficient with his touches and should show up in this do-or-die Game 6.
Bet: Payton II Over 9.5 Points (+100)
