Chiefs, Eagles among the Super Bowl favorites heading into the 2023 season

The Kansas City Chiefs defeated the Philadelphia Eagles 38-35 on Sunday in Super Bowl LVII, but odds are already out for next year’s Super Bowl — and both teams are among the favorites.

Super Bowl LVIII is set for Feb. 11, 2024 in beautiful Las Vegas, Nev. at Allegiant Stadium. The first Super Bowl in Sin City will be some kind of party, but which team will be the one that has the most fun?

Perennial MVP candidates like Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen are always going to get some love for their respective teams in this market and that’s why they are the likeliest to represent the AFC. The 49ers, Eagles and Cowboys have the shortest odds in the NFC.

The Cardinals and Texans bring up the rear, as Houston will be breaking in a new starting quarterback and Arizona will be waiting for Kyler Murray’s return.

NFL free agency and draft storylines

There have already been some big offseason developments. Tom Brady officially retired, so he won’t be quarterbacking the 49ers or Raiders as discussed. Aaron Rodgers still has to decide what he will do, but you can bet that the Packers won’t be +3000 if he decides he wants to play for another team or retire.

Most of the top free agents are defensive players, aside from Lamar Jackson and Geno Smith, but those are guys that could impact rosters and move the odds around. Jackson is likely to get franchise tagged, along with impending free agent running backs Saquon Barkley and Josh Jacobs. But, there will be some good defensive players and offensive linemen changing addresses this spring and summer.

We also have several top quarterbacks in the 2023 NFL draft, including Bryce Young and C.J. Stroud, who will have an impact on bad teams. We also have a lot of new head coaches for teams that fell short of expectations, like Sean Payton with the Broncos, Frank Reich with the Panthers and the guys that will take over in Arizona and Indianapolis.

Thanks for being with us throughout the 2022 season and Super Bowl LVII. We can’t wait to have the Super Bowl in our backyard next year and encourage you to stick with us all spring and summer long through March Madness, the NFL Draft, the NBA and NHL playoffs, the MLB season and a whole lot more.
