Even as the faces in his supporting cast change, the song about Tom Brady remains the same. Brady and the New England Patriots pile up double-digit wins and pursue the Super Bowl each year.
Westgate SuperBook director John Murray said to expect something similar from Patrick Mahomes, even with the Kansas City Chiefs facing turbulent times.

When the Westgate posted NFL regular-season win totals Sunday morning, New England (11), Kansas City (10.5) and New Orleans (10.5) topped the list.
Murray said he’s unfazed by the troubling news surrounding Chiefs wide receiver Tyreek Hill, who has been suspended from team-related activities while a domestic violence case is investigated, and there is a chance he will not play in 2019.
“To me, Kansas City is still the best team in the NFL even without Tyreek Hill,” Murray said. “There’s no doubt that could be a big loss for the Chiefs because he’s so explosive in the passing game. Mahomes is just such a terrific player. I actually think the Chiefs are going to be fine.”
Mahomes led the league in passing touchdowns (50) and ranked second in yards (5,097) last season. Hill blazed his way to 1,479 receiving yards and 12 touchdowns to rank fourth in both categories. The Kansas City offense took a hit last season when the team cut running back Kareem Hunt as fallout from a domestic violence issue.
“We figure Hill will miss at least eight games, if not the whole year,” said Westgate vice president of risk management Ed Salmons, who made a half-win adjustment on the Chiefs because of Hill’s status.
After a loss to the Patriots in the AFC title game, the Chiefs fired defensive coordinator Bob Sutton in the first of many changes. Kansas City traded its first-round draft pick to Seattle for defensive end Frank Clark.
“The Chiefs will be much better defensively with a new coaching staff and Frank Clark,” Murray said.
Eleven teams in the NFL won 10 or more games last season. The Los Angeles Rams and New Orleans Saints tied for the best record at 13-3. Kansas City won 12 games. The top three teams in point differential were the Saints (plus-151), Chiefs (plus-144) and Rams (plus-143).
The Patriots’ 11-5 record last season was their worst since 2009. Based on the 2018 standings, New England (five-way tie for 27th) and Washington (32nd) face the league’s easiest schedules this season.
“The Chiefs are in a tough division,” Murray said. “One of the reasons New England’s win total is always so high is their division is so weak.”
Oakland faces the toughest schedule based on opponents’ combined 2018 record. The Raiders, 4-12 last season, will play seven games against teams that made the playoffs. Jon Gruden’s team is tagged with a win total of 6.
Arizona and Miami share the league’s lowest win total at 5. The Cardinals, who drafted Kyler Murray No. 1 overall, are priced slightly higher than the Dolphins, who acquired quarterback Josh Rosen in a trade with Arizona.
The Westgate also posted "Yes/No" playoff prop prices and games of the year.
