Tennis best bets for ATP Shanghai – Saturday, October 14
There isn’t much time left in the 2023 tennis season, but the Asian swing brings us some really big tournaments. This weekend, the men are in action for a 1000-level event, which is the biggest a tournament can be outside of the four Grand Slams. I’ll be focusing on Shanghai with my tennis best bets for tomorrow. We’re into the semifinals of the Rolex Shanghai Masters and I like something in both of the matchups. So, keep reading for my best bets for Saturday, October 14.

Sebastian Korda vs. Hubert Hurkacz
Korda beat Hurkacz when the two met at the Australian Open earlier this year, with the American edging him out in a tight five-set match. But Hurkacz took a little while to start playing his best tennis in 2023, so he wasn’t exactly in great form in Melbourne. Now, the Pole is playing fantastic tennis, and the cooler temperatures and quicker courts are helping him quite a bit. Hurkacz has the third-highest hold percentage on tour, and he hits absolute bombs with the ball on his racquet. So, in these conditions, it can be very hard for opponents to get those back. And I ultimately think that will be the difference in this matchup. I can see Hurkacz having no trouble making quick work of his service games, but I expect him to work his way into a few of Korda’s. And even if he doesn’t, I like Hurkacz to prevail more often than not in tiebreakers.
Bet: Hurkacz ML (-115 – 2 units)
Grigor Dimitrov vs. Andrey Rublev
Rublev is one of the most modest athletes you’ll find in all of pro sports, and he has been talking up his next opponents all week. Rublev does have a ton of respect for Dimitrov, who is an actual friend of his. And the Bulgarian has been playing fantastic tennis in recent months. But Rublev has played some of the best tennis of his career this week. I have been backing him on the game spread over the last couple of days because of that, and I don’t see any reason to go away from that here. With the way Rublev is pounding shots from the baseline, I just don’t see Dimitrov having much that will give the Russian trouble here. I also think Rublev has what it takes to break Dimitrov’s serve a couple of times in this match. Overall, I just think the Russian is the better player, and he is definitely in better form — even if Dimitrov did beat Carlos Alcaraz earlier this week. So, I’m backing Rublev to cover a very small spread and I’m not thinking twice about it.
