Queen’s Club, Berlin and Halle predictions and best bets for June 18th
With the French Open having just ended, the tennis action will be all over the place until Wimbledon (which I already previewed). There are grass-court events in all different parts of the world (Queen’s Club, Berlin and Halle), and there are also some Challenger-level events being played. I’ll be taking a bit of a scattered approach over the next few weeks, taking advantage of the insane amount of tennis to find value wherever I can. Below you’ll find some tennis best bets for the Cinch Championships at the Queen’s Club in London, the ecotrans Ladies Open (German Open) in Berlin and the Terra Wortmann Open (Halle Open) in Halle for Tuesday, June 18th.
I’m going to quickly hit on some of my favorite picks below, but I usually have a lot more tennis predictions on the Pro Picks page. I also occasionally add some picks throughout the day, as schedules can get wonky with the international nature of the sport. I also like to see how odds are moving. That said, keep checking the page every couple of hours if you want more of my picks.

2024 Record: 397-399 (+43.00 units)
Victoria Azarenka vs. Maria Sakkari – Berlin
Azarenka blasted Sakkari off the court when the two met in Rome a couple of weeks ago. Azarenka won that match 6-4, 6-1 and the two now meet on grass. In terms of winning percentage, Sakkari’s 55.0% makes grass her worst surface. And that’s not all that surprising considering she’s not the type of player that dictates play from the baseline. Well, Azarenka’s game does translate rather nicely to this surface. She’s a very powerful player and will be looking for quick points here. That said, it’s hard to envision a scenario in which Sakkari looks like the better player in this match, even if she does have a slight edge on most courts. She just won’t have the opportunity to extend rallies and eventually flip them in her favor.
Bet: Azarenka ML (-111 – 1.5 units)
Pedro Martinez vs. Christopher Eubanks – Halle
Brandon Nakashima vs. Daniel Evans – Queen’s Club
Martinez is a top-50 player in the men’s rankings, but that’s only because of his ability to perform on clay. The Spaniard is 10-6 on the dirt over the last 52 weeks, but he’s just 3-5 at the ATP level on grass in his career. He hasn’t played a lot of tennis on this surface, and his game isn’t much of a fit for it. Martinez is a baseline player that doesn’t really have any serious weapons on the court. That’s ultimately why I trust Eubanks to get the better of him as the first leg of a moneyline parlay. Eubanks has had trouble replicating last season’s success, as he is just 4-13 in 2024 after having gone 21-20 in 2023. But now is the time of year in which Eubanks should be a factor. He has a booming serve and a big, flat one-handed backhand. Those things make him a tough opponent on grass, where he is 11-7 in his career. The serve should also allow him to find success when we get to the hard-court season.
For the second leg of this parlay, I’m going with Nakashima to beat Evans. I’m a big fan of Evans’ playing style and intensity, but he has been a mess in 2024. After going 18-26 in 2023, Evans is now 3-14 since the start of this season. And Evans has even gone down to the Challenger level quite often, and he hasn’t even had that much success there. So, even though Evans is a proven grass-court performer and will be playing at home, I like Nakashima’s chances here. Evans definitely has a little more variety than Nakashima, but the American has the bigger serve and a more straightforward game. Nakashima has also played rather well on this surface already.
PARLAY: Eubanks ML + Nakashima ML (+120)
Billy Harris vs. Tomas Martin Etcheverry – Queen’s Club
Harris has only played three ATP-level matches in his career, and he’s going up against a player that is ranked 32nd in the world. But Etcheverry is just 1-4 on grass in his career, and this will be his first grass-court match of the season. With that in mind, Harris has an opportunity to pull off the upset. The Brit hasn’t yet played a tour-level match on grass this year, but he is 6-2 on the surface at the Challenger level. So, Harris has had some opportunities to get his feet wet on this surface, and this also happens to be his favorite of the three — which is natural for a British player. With that in mind, I think there’s a chance that Harris looks like the much better player in these conditions. And overall, I think his serve will be a little more reliable here. So, I’m taking a shot on this at plus-money odds.
Bet: Harris ML (+112)
