WNBA Best Bets:

New York Liberty (-6; 159.5) vs. Minnesota Lynx

We have reached the WNBA Finals, so obviously, only one game is available for a WNBA best bet. For the first time in three years, the WNBA Finals will be held without the Las Vegas Aces, as the New York Liberty and the Minnesota Lynx are set to square off in the Barclays Center with a ring on their minds. As TSI power ratings reflect, New York has undoubtedly been the best team overall this season, while Minnesota has had spurts of dominance followed by spurts of inconsistency.

The Lynx have spent some time atop the TSI ratings at various points this year, but the overall trend line favors the Liberty. The market likes New York, inching the line up from 5.5 to 6, while the O/U has remained around 159.5. TSI projects Liberty -5.5 with a total of 160, so it aligns with the market. I mentioned on X that the WNBA playoffs have been much harder to predict than the regular season, perhaps as a byproduct of teams getting so familiar with each other throughout a series. Minnesota actually took three of the four meetings this season by an average score of 83-78, including winning two out of three in New York.

My concern for the Lynx in this spot is that this is their third game this week (great job, WNBA schedulers), while the Liberty have had plenty of time to rest and prepare. My leans would be to the Liberty and the Over, but the potential fatigue factor for Minnesota scares me off making the Over an official play.

WNBA Best Bet: Lean New York Liberty -6, Over 159.5
